Gender Rights Issues
I am writing to urge you to please focus your attention on the issue of Gender Equality in our country. Every person deserves fair treatment no matter their gender, sex or how they identify themselves.
I am very concerned about this issue and the turbulent, political undertones of the conversation. While we are making great strides in improving gender inequality, major disparities and problems still exist regarding equal pay, workplace treatment, healthcare, domestic violence and more. Women of color and transgender women are particularly disadvantaged. I hope that you and your fellow senators will make every effort to produce legislation that upholds gender equality and brings people of all genders together.
This year’s Women’s Marches, denunciations against sexual assault and other grassroots efforts towards this issue have been amazing. Let’s keep up the momentum with upcoming legislation that makes Gender Equality the country’s priority.
Overall, I urge you to connect your constituents and look for non-divergent mediums that allow us to come back together as a country. To bridge the rift between people in America we need our leaders to create productive conversations with both sides, and find solutions with a long-term mindset. I look forward to upcoming legislation that makes human equality the country’s priority.
