Meet the Twist Ring: our newest addition to your jewelry arsenal – set to launch November 1st.
Since day one we’ve been huge supporters of the everyday wearability of the skinny stacking ring, but we always knew deep down that it needed a sibling. Something to complement the original–not overshadow it–and carry out the same everyday function of our favorite OG stacker. After countless design meetings, samples, and refining, the twist ring was born. The way we look at it: a skinny stacker + dot cuff + new twist ring = the perfect family (aka the family we’d want to be a part of).
We knew we wanted to introduce texture, so we sought inspiration in everything. You know that soft, knobby feel of vintage tees and sweatshirts? We wanted to emulate that, mixed with the subtlety of watercolor paper and the stuccoed facades of LA buildings. Nothing too harsh (we don’t want your clothes getting caught), but enough texture that it’d catch the eyes of passersby. We originally toyed with the idea of creating a beaded ring, but the twist element resonated too deeply, and we knew it had to be done. It’s our new go-to, and we hope it’ll be yours too.
We especially love the unassuming versatility of this design. With the skinny stacker, it’s a given, but with this? Well, it’s also pretty everyday friendly. If you weren’t sure, we can prove it. The thickness clocks in at just under 1 mm (.95 to be exact), meaning it’s thin enough to be added to your pre-existing stack, but the texture makes it interesting enough to wear on it’s own. Lately, we’ve been feeling those pinky ring vibes, so wearing the twist ring as such has been a popular choice around these parts.
The rings thin circumference means it’s very delicate by nature. It’s actually our daintiest piece to date, so it does need to be handled with care. The bands structure is made from two pieces of .5 mm wire twisted together; it’s a very hands on process. Our manufacturers clamp together two pieces of equal length wire and attach them to a drill bit, where they drill at consistent speed to twist the wires together. They spend hours ensuring that each twist measures the same distance before cutting the wire to size, bending it to form a circle, and soldering the ends together. Pretty cool, huh? We think so.
We decided to pre-release the rose gold Twist Ring to gauge reactions to our new style, the first piece that mindfully expands our line (just a twist on “essential”– see what we did there?). Clearly, everyone liked it; orders came in steadily and the ring sold out in less than 24 hours (!!!). If you’re as excited about the release of the Twist Ring as we are, you can sign up to be notified about the launch. Otherwise, happy styling and happy shopping! As always, be sure to tag us in your photos so we can share them.
