Meet Emma—a book loving, San Francisco dwelling, long time supporter of our brand. We love Emma's cute, simple style and her emphasis on supporting smaller, independent brands. Here, we get to know her in a few quick questions.
1. Hi Emma! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! My name is Emma Loughridge and I’ve been living in San Francisco for 5 years now. I grew up in California and can’t really imagine living anywhere else; how could you possibly leave? You can usually find me with a book in my face (and two more in my bag), buying plants at my local nursery or searching for the perfect vintage Levi’s.
2. What are some of your favorite everyday essentials (things you can't live without)?
Books, I can’t leave the house without them. Also a spritz of perfume, I feel naked if I don’t wear any. My favorites lately have been by Le Labo, I go between Lys 41, Jasmin 17 and Santal 33.
3. Do you think being in San Francisco has shaped your style?
I think it has a bit. San Francisco is a pretty casual city style-wise, so I definitely feel comfortable wearing jeans and a t-shirt most days but then I usually like to dress it up a bit with a heeled sandal and big earrings.
4. Who are some women that inspire you?
Joan Didion, my mother, Agnes Martin. I also find myself following a lot of gorgeous, smart, stylish women on Instagram so I definitely draw inspiration from them as well.
5. Vrai & Oro was founded on three key values: quality, simplicity, and transparency. What are values you hold dear?
Honesty, with yourself and others. But especially with yourself.
6. Lastly, any San Francisco "must visits"?
Green Apple and City Lights for books, Hook Fish Co for yummy fresh fish tacos, MoMA and Legion of Honor for art, St Lightning for vintage clothing and plants, Petit Marlow for the best dinner of your life (oysters! Deviled eggs! burrata!) and Bitter End for a great, cheap gin and tonic.
